Accusonic - History
With over 35 years of experience, Accusonic Technologies is the proven leader in design, development, and production of high-accuracy ultrasonic transit-time flow measurement systems. Thousands of Accusonic flowmeters are in use at hydroelectric, fossil power, water treatment and distribution, and wastewater plants and projects around the world.
Founded by a group of engineers from the Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution and originally incorporated as Ocean Research Equipment (ORE) in 1961, Accusonic Technologies began development of transit-time flowmeter technology in the late 1960’s and delivered their first multiple-path flowmeter systems for both pipeline and open-channel flow monitoring to the California Department of Water Resources (DWR) in the early 1970’s.
